Diy 10 Grain Cereal Mix

Ever wanted to make a nice warm bowl of breakfast cereal for a cozy winter morning, just to find out that you have nothing in the pantry and you dont want to leave the house. this recipe is awesome and it is one I created for the use of making a multigrain bread. People tend to believe that making a hearty whole grain bread is very hard and daunting to tackle, but in reality, it is just as simple as making normal bread :) You do not need alot of fancy stuff. Anyway, this short blog post is all about how to make the 10 grain cereal that you can eat or use in bread making or other baking needs. Please continue reading and enjoy the journey!

The recipe is very very simple. The best way to do this is buy the ingredients from a bulk store, as in scoop your own into a bag style haha. That way you can buy as little or as much as you want! I usually buy mine at Sprouts or from Winco. It is pretty cheap to make this stuff and very versitile.

Here is what you need:

sunflower seeds, raw
hulled mullet
cracked wheat
cracked oat groats
wheat bran
oat bran
rye bran
cracked brown rice
poppy seeds
cracked corn or rough corn mill

Ok, now just take 1/3 cup of each and mix it up in a bowl. Thats it! your done.

To cook:

Bring 3 cups water to a boil. Add some sea salt or butter. Once boiling, add 1 cup of the cereal and cook until tender. about 15 minutes

Enjoy!
